YOC4X4.com - Green Lane Fund

As a club we have decided that because we use the legal green lanes we should put something back as the 4x4 community has such a bad name with Local councils and hikers alike.
They believe that we are destroying the countryside and should be banned, but the Byways and green lanes have been used by wheeled vehicles for hundreds of years and should be kept open for responsible users.
As a club the G.L.F (green lane fund) will be a small fee for each of the vehicles that use green lanes on one of our days out. The fee will be £5 per vehicle and will be collected and saved, we will then as a club arrange with a local council to repair part of a green lane spending the money collected on materials stone, fencing etc and supplying the manpower from volunteer club members, repairing one project a year.
This will produce positive feedback and hopefully more clubs will follow.
The club members have also voted that the yearly club membership fee will increase in July 2010 to £25 and £5 of this fee will be donated into the Green Lane Fund. This will boost the G.L.F enabling us to do more. To JOIN the YOC4x4 Offroad Club please visit: www.yoc4x4.co.uk/membership/
After each repair project if there is any funds left in the account this will be donated to a Local Charity Voted by the Club.
We have also been talking to “The Treadlightly Trust” who are a trust trying to save green lanes for responsible users and are also trying to improve the name of the 4x4 community by putting something back and repairing and re-opening Green Lanes for us all.
